yeah - I had no idea what those guys were shooting. At first I thought the rifle had a bull-barrel, but it's just a big-ass bore. lol.

Seems hard as hell to get a picture of one on the net, but here's the manufactorer's website.
http://www.hollandandholland.com/home.htm
The gun in the picture is a design of theirs that's VERY similar to the Nitro.

oohh - I thought the name sounded familiar ... those English side-by-sides that go for 40-100k.
Did you know Steven Spielberg has a pretty impressive personal collection of shotguns? I think he mostly has high-end Italian models, but I wouldn't be surprised if he has some English pieces, too.

Heh, I doubt he's even fired one :3 Would be such a waste to not fire those beauties - they're hand crafted to perfection, designed to give you the ultimate sense of power.

I saw this video once (I can't find it, unfortunately) where this idiot at a gun show accidentally dumped his cup of coffee on a display of English side-by-sides. I just about had a heart attack when I saw it.

You can't inherite a gun o_O It's prohibited by law that all firearms are to be sold, modified, traded and manufactured by licensed personal ONLY, class C and up. If you die and have firearms, those firearms are often aprihended by the police or other personal to be sold for scrap, refurbished or resold as second hand from a dealership. Weapons are handled VERY seriously on the planet - not allowed at ALL in Britian, Germany, Japan amoung other countries unless your job requires you to (Soldier, mainly - in many places police forces don't even have firearms.. Which is a veeeeery stupid idea).
They ain't toys - you'll realize it the first time you go apply for an FID Card application - $100 BEFORE they do backround checks. If you fail the backround checks, you do NOT get your cash back. But the fun don't end there! Now that you've passed the checks, you're off to training. $350 here in MA down at the North Attleboro range, and that's CHEAP. Once you finish the training, pass the shooting and written portion of the test, you need you get your firearm - unless you buy some knockoff, expect at least a good $400.

Those videos top the time I had seen a friend after his trip to the shooting range. Apparently he was trying to shoot a hot load on his .44 while only holding it with one hand. He left the range with a broken nose, two black eyes, a sizable gash right at his hairline, and a realization that he wasn't Dirty Hairy.

For the record:
If you watch a lot of Hollywood action movies (e.g. Matrix) or play a lot of video games (e.g. Counterstrike, Max Paine etc.) you might get the impression that the .50AE Desert Eagle is some badass gun.
.... well, it ain't.
In the shooting community the .50AE DE is regarded as more of a poser gun than anything else. It was designed as a novelty - not for combat. It is way too impractical for use in the field. The DE a gas-operated mechanism that requires slow burning ball powders that leave a ton of residue so it needs to be cleaned every 50 rounds or so (I'm told). It's got all the ergonomics of a cinder block and the balance is awful - not to mention the weight and bulk.
If your DE is in a case and you show it to a shooter you'll get "oohs" and "ahhs" of curiosity.
If your DE is holstered on your body and you show it to a shooter you'll get pity (not ridicule ... we're actually supportive, not mean).
Hollywood picked up on this pistol because it looks big and mean - but, in real life, only a complete wanker would carry one into a fight.
Sorry if I burst any bubbles out there ...

Yeah, that's why the 9mm and the .45 and such are more common....
I only own rifles. Had a .22 pistol, but only because I'd never had a pistol. Then I sold it and bought an Xbox. Had much more fun with the Xbox.
